Ever since the frankfurter was invented in Germany, people have been eating hot dogs and sausages. It's was a rather popular American food for quite some time, and even today, they're a staple at baseball games and July 4th cookouts. And in case you didn't know, they've been called 'glizzies' as of late - a term that used to describe weaponry, but has now been promoted (maybe demoted?) to a slang term for hot dogs. Maybe hot diggities had a resurgence when that little augmented reality dancing hot dog took over Snapchat back in 2017.
